Your Role
At the Simulators Training & Support Systems department, we develop and manage scalable and cost-effective products in the form of training systems, support systems, simulators, and rigs. This is both as products in the Aeronautics product portfolio and to support Aeronautics in becoming the most efficient development organization in the aerospace industry. In the area of Product Support, we now need to grow, and specifically strengthen the Sourcing and Supply section responsible for purchasing.
As an operational buyer at STS, you will be part of a close-knit team that together is responsible for operational purchasing. Your contribution is crucial to ensure the delivery of materials and services according to plan for our customer projects and production. We have a strong focus on business development and efficiency - both within STS and in close collaboration with other parts of the organization.
Your role includes managing purchases for our production of simulators and related systems, including spare parts, repairs, and services, based on ongoing delivery and development projects. You will also be involved in analyzing and comparing suppliers to ensure that we choose the most suitable ones based on current needs.
Your main tasks will include:
- Managing RFIs & RFQs, orders, order confirmations, delivery monitoring, invoices, returns, and claims
- Supporting strategic purchasing in supplier development and analysis
- Coordinating with material planners and strategic purchasing to provide forecasts to suppliers
- Creating/Maintaining purchasing data in ERP
- Monitoring KPIs against the supplier base
- Process, tools, and flow optimization

To succeed in this role, we see that you have the ability to work independently and can drive your purchasing flow with a focus on quality and delivery reliability. You have experience in managing purchases of both standard components and more complex, customer-specific products. Since the role involves many internal contacts, it is important that you collaborate well and build good relationships - we achieve our goals together. You also need to be able to communicate fluently in both Swedish and English, in both speech and writing.
You need to have the following qualifications:
- Experience working with operational/tactical purchasing, preferably in combination with business development
- Relevant education at a post-secondary level or knowledge we assess as equivalent
- Good skills in an ERP system and MS Office
- Experience in driving change
The position requires you to undergo and be approved according to the applicable security protection regulations. For positions where Saab has requirements for security classification placement, this may involve requirements for certain citizenship.
